Punchdrunk launches immersive storytelling app Silverpoint

New storytelling-gaming app by Absolut, Punchdrunk and Somethin’ Else lets you explore the mystery of a missing girl known as Chloe in a series of digital games and live experiences that bring you closer to the truth. If you want to solve the mystery, you’ve got to work for it. Only by playing the app game and committing yourself to unlocking all of the necessary stages will you discover the full story of what has happened to character of Chloe. Created by immersive theatre production specialists Punchdrunk along with content agency Somethin’ Else, Silverpoint takes its inspiration from Andy Warhol’s early work – his rarely-seen blotted-line ‘Silverpoint’ drawings, a style that can be seen in one of his sketches of an Absolut vodka bottle. The app is beautifully designed so you can’t help but be glued to the screen and the accompanying twinkling sound effects are entrancing too. WHAT’S THE IDEA: An app that lets you book a local London restaurant based on your current location. You can also search for further restaurants by typing in a different postcode. An automatic search displays eight restaurants in your vicinity along with photos, price guidelines and distances. Need more choices? Swipe left on the ones you don’t like for new suggestions. You can also filter results by dress code and check out sample menus and reviews. WHAT’S THE COST: The app is free but meal prices depend on the restaurant. Regular offers are also available and are clearly flagged up. WHEN CAN I BOOK: As soon as right now – the app is designed for spur-of-the-moment bookings. Booking in at Michelin-starred restaurants just got a whole lot easier. For those who won’t accept less than Michelin starred-quality dining, here’s an app that really cuts to the chase. Featuring Michelin guide-listed restaurants only, we’re happy to say that it’s pretty unlikely you’ll come across any duds. The 2015 Michelin Restaurants app, which is powered by Bookatable, provides all the content from this year’s guide and allows you to quickly and easily book in at any one to three star-rated restaurant, as well as those awarded a Bib Gourmand (restaurants that offer “good food at moderate prices”). Filter options by star rating, price, cuisine, location and availability and browse the extensive food galleries to help inform your choices.
