Mark’s Bar is a shoe-in at Selfridges

Mark's Bar at Selfridges designed by Lee Broom bar

OK, let’s say…it’s your birthday and you want to mark the occasion. A few cocktails should go down pretty well, no? Well, no. If you’re Selfridges, only a whole cocktail bar will do. Introducing Mark’s Bar, by chef and restaurateur Mark Hix, which has just set up shop in the newly-turned one year old Men’s Shoe Galleries in Selfridges.

Among the cocktails on offer are the palate pick-me-up Hix Kix (Morello cherry in Somerset Apple Eau de Vie and Nyetimber Classic Cuvée 2004) and a festive Merry HIXmas (vodka, Cointreau, quince syrup with cinnamon and cloves). For something a little stronger, try powering up with a Moccasin Martini (Absolut vodka, Kahlua coffee liqueur, white sugar syrup and espresso) or go for broke with the Last Man Standing (Beefeater 24 London Dry gin, Antica Formula vermouth and Campari). You might want to sit down with the latter two at the end of your shopping trip though as the heady offering of drinks can make for a more expensive outing than you originally intended.
