If you’ve ever marvelled at the beauty of an Hermès silk scarf, or that of an Hermès handbag, now is your chance to learn and witness first hand how those very pieces are created.
In London, for one week only, the Festival des Métiers exhibition will be showcasing 10 different Hermès crafts and the meticulous techniques used by the craftspeople to create a wide selection of Hermès items, just as they would in their French atelier.
This ‘behind the scenes’ access allows you to see up close how the handbags are constructed, the piecing together of the jewellery, how the famous scarves are printed and then finished by hand, as well as the various tools involved in creating these coveted items. And all of this is revealed by the very people whose mastery and finesse has made the brand so covetable.
Festival des Métiers is open from 22th – 28th May at the Saatchi Gallery, Duke of York’s HQ, King’s Road, London, SW3 4RY. Admission is free.
